Multi-talented musician Entelleckt sounds like a Cee-Lo, Lupe Fiasco, and Andre 3000 cypher. Fed up with the message of conformity broadcast to the masses, Entelleckt makes music to inspire you to follow your dreams, follow your passion, and think for yourself.
Born in Mobile, AL and raised across North America, including stints in Bay City, TX, Edmonton, AB, Rock Hill, SC, and Saint Louis, MO, Entelleckt’s nomadic upbringing infused his music with influences ranging from N.E.R.D. to Ratatat to UGK.
Entelleckt’s passion for music exploded while studying Computer Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. In a land of conservatives and technologists (many appearing to be more machine than man), creating music became an increasingly important escape from the monotony of engineering coursework.
Using funds earned through summer internships, Entelleckt invested in studio equipment to feed his growing creative appetite. Out of necessity, Entelleckt taught himself how to produce, record, and mix his own music through books, videos, and experimentation. Entelleckt’s six years of formal training on the saxophone, including time at the Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts, certainly helped.
In stark contrast to the materialism and misogyny present in modern mainstream hip hop, Entelleckt is a soulfully conscious voice. He sounds like how you wanted hip hop to evolve. One part social revolutionary, one part hopeless romantic, Entelleckt bottles your deepest emotions, thoughts, and dreams and pours them over you in song.
